Boys basketball defeats Maize South

Senior Grant Bugbee scored 30 points against Maize South on Friday.

Last Friday night Maize’s gym was packed as the Eagles played Maize South for the first time, and won 78-64.

In the first quarter, Maize South led 20-15.

At halftime, the score was close with the Eagles trailing 34-31.

By the end of the third quarter, Maize was in the lead 55-47.

Senior Grant Bugbee scored 30 points, junior Dalyn Johnson scored 18, sophomore Caleb Grill scored 16, senior Tyson Love scored 6, senior John Short scored 6 and junior Antonio Espinoza scored 2.

The Eagles will play again at home, Feb. 3 at 7:30 against Derby.
