Teachers leave lasting impressions on their 2016 seniors
May 17, 2016
Christian | Alvarez | Hmm. I know this is a bit off, but I’d like to say every teacher I’ve had, from Busart to Wolgast to Brown to Keith to Schantz to Kern to Benninga to Mans to Dana. I’m right grateful for the opportunity to learn under these teachers and learn who they are and who they are not. I will live my life with the lessons said and unsaid among these people foremost, other teachers a close second. |
Mariana | Alves | Ms. Nitcher. She is my favorite teacher and introduced me to a wonderful language: French. |
Taylor | Armes | Mrs. Johnson- she encouraged me through a lot of difficulties in life. |
Brooke | Arnold | Mrs. Prater because of her dedication and work ethic. |
Alexis | Arnold | Mrs. Prater. She has taught me to never give up and [to] keep trying. |
Danei | Aviles | Mrs. Lippoldt. She is super nice! |
Tien | Bach | Mrs. Cox has the most impact on me. I have had her ceramics classes three years in a row. I can always come to her for advice, and she always helps me out. |
Samuel | Baker | Mr. Walker for setting me on the right track, Mrs. Schantz for always being there in times of trouble, Mr. Frye for pushing me to work harder, and Mr. Bergkamp for pushing my limits. |
Troy | Baker | Kendra Banzet (Mulvane). She helped me figure out what I want my major to be. |
Samuel | Baker | Mrs. Schantz because I know I can go to her with any problem. |
Marcus | Ballenger | I would say Mrs. Houseman has had a huge impact on me. I’ve never had her as a teacher but she was my En-Cor teacher and always gave me wonderful advice. |
Preston | Barley | Mrs. Mans because we have created a trust where I can talk to her about anything. |
Sawyer | Barragan | Doris Prater because of her work ethic, her drive, her caring heart, and passion for music. |
Victoria | Bartlett | Mrs. Poole had the most positive impact on me because she helped me get help when I was going through rough patches at home. |
Grace | Bartlett | I think Mrs. Debes because she’s always there if you need her. |
Isabel | Baumer | The one teacher that comes to mind is Mrs. Elder. She always pushed me to be the best student I could be, even when it seemed like I couldn’t. She believes in all of her students and forces them to see the brilliance they all possess. I know that it’s because of her that am who I am today. |
Emily | Beaver | Mr. Bergkamp, whom I’ve had for a year and a half in AP Physics and AP Chemistry. He is a gifted science teacher and I couldn’t ask for anyone better to read my name at graduation. He has changed the way I learn, think about math and science, and has definitely been an influence on my impending college major and career path. Even though he hates biology, he has inspired me to pursue my favorite branch of science. |
Anthony | Bianco | My En-Cor teacher because I known her for four years. |
Nathan | Bibb | Mr. Kirk because I’ve known him since I was in 5th grade and he’s made being in band fun. |

Darian | Bishop | Mrs. Schantz because you can tell that she cares about each and every one of her students. |
Hallie | Bontrager | I would say Mrs. Cox has had the biggest impact on me. I took Ceramics 1 my freshman year and throughout my whole high school career I continued to take her classes. She pushed me way out of my comfort zone constantly which sometimes irked me but now I’m incredibly thankful for that. |
Macayla | Border | Honestly, I can not pick just one teacher. They all have made a huge impact on me during my four years. If I absolutely have to choose, it would be my tennis coaches. They showed me not to give up, to keep pushing for the best end goal, and to never let the little things get in the way of the greatness just beyond. |
Miranda | Boswell | Jay Super and Bill Kruse helped me with everything I’ve ever needed, regardless of how trivial or difficult it was to accomplish. |

Ashley | Zane | Mike Shauer has had the most positive impact on me because he is always asking how I’m doing, wishes me luck before a lot of my soccer games, and really cares about me. |
Becca | Zinabu | Mr. Frye or Dan Loving. |
Rebecca | Zinabu | Mrs. Snyder is the realest person I know and she has helped me by giving me advice on a lot of situations. Mr. Loving has always told us to never underestimate ourselves and would always remind us that even though we are young, we still have a voice. |
Mrs. Borrego- even though she failed me, she taught me to be better when it comes to school. |
