The boys basketball team defeated Salina Central Tuesday night 60-57. Senior Jacob Schultz led the team with 21 points. Maize’s record improved to 12-7.

“I think we played very well, and I think we’re coming in together as a team,” sophomore Dalyn Johnson said.

The team won after Central missed a three-point shot to tie the game. Maize earned a share of the AVCTL I title with the victory.

Johnson said the team needs to work on their chemistry, making better decisions and playing more as a team for the Sub-State tournament.
