Boys cross country team places first at Emporia; girls place third

Saturday the cross country team went to Emporia to compete against Manhattan, Saint Thomas Aquinas, Campus, Washburn Rural, Junction City, Wichita Northwest, Emporia, Blue Valley North, Lawrence, and Lawrence Free State.

The boys team took first as a team placing all seven of their runners in the top twenty.

“The seven varsity boys, every single one of them had live time PR,” coach Skeeter Rankins said.

The girls team took third, having sophomores Carson Pierce, Sydney Blair, and freshmen Nicole Vick medal.

“Five of the six girls that ran, ran quite a bit faster than the week before,” Rankins said.

The team will be in action again this Saturday at the Cessna Activity Center.
