Senior Katie McClure was awarded the Preseason Athlete of the Year award for soccer at the sixth annual Mel Hambelton Ford Tailgate Party.

“[The award] is based on character and how you present yourself, as well as athletics,” McClure said.

Each year, they have free food, games, spirit contests between schools and award ceremonies for outstanding athletes. 

She was given a plaque with her name on it for her efforts.
