    Cross country teams sweep at league

    Running-picThe Eagles cross country teams were in action on Oct. 18th for the AVCTL meet at Lake Afton.

    The varsity girls team took first place out of seven teams. Senior Deidra Walker took first place with a time of 14:27. Walker set a course record with her time and also set an AVCTL record. Senior Kate Utech finished in second place with a time of 14:43.

    “I think the team did really well,” said Utech. “I feel like we were really pumped from the beginning so it was like a burst full of energy at the league meet.”

    The varsity boys team also brought home a first place win out of seven teams. Top finishers included senior Cole Bosley in second place with a time of 16:42 and senior Max Berg in fourth place with a time of 16:44.

    The team will compete at regionals Oct. 25 at Warner Park in Manhattan.
