The Eagles went off to Lawrence to play in a tournament with seven other teams. They ended up placing seventh at the tournament. This is the second time that the Eagles didn’t win a tournament, the first time being runner up to Bishop Miege.
“It wasn’t our best,” junior Josi Johnson said. “There’s a lot of excuses we could make, but a lot of it was just communication.”
Senior Tyler Downs was injured early on in the tournament and the team had to adjust without one of the starting seniors.
“We need to learn to play different positions,” Johnson said. “And getting ready for injuries and mishaps.”
The team will play next at 5 p.m. on Oct. 7 at home.
