Senior Keiryn Swenson goes up for a spike against Salina South, where they would go on to win the match.

Starting the 2014 volleyball season, the Eagles are off to an undefeated start. The team went to the preseason AVCTL on Aug. 30 at Hutchinson, where they went 6-0.

“They have exceeded my expectations,” coach Betsy Manning said. “We have never gone 6-0 at the preseason tournament.”

Manning says that the team is more cohesive this year due to multiple years of playing together.

“The biggest thing the team needs to do is not be complacent,” Manning said. “We always have to continuously strive to get better.”

Manning expects her team to win league and go to state again for the sixth year and perform well. Their next game will be at 5 P.M. on Sept. 9 at Hutchinson.
