    Girls basketball defeats Newton 38-29

The girls basketball team won their game last night against Newton. The game was a makeup from the recent snow days.

For head coach Jerrod Handy, it was a good win.

“I was proud of the girls,” Handy said. “They battled hard.”

Tonight the girls will play Salina Central who was their only league loss. The game plan for the Eagles tonight is to stop Salina Central senior Emily Wood from shooting threes.

“She hit six threes on us last time we played,” Handy said.

If the team wins tonight,  they will get a share of the league title.

The game will be at 6 tonight at home.
