The Maize High Lady Eagles defeat Maize South 55-39.

“Maize is a rivalry game, so it would have meant more to win,” said Maize South junior Avery Lowe. “It was definitely more nerve-wracking playing them.” 

The Eagles are now 2-3, and the Mavericks are 3-2. 

The Eagles had a three-game losing streak prior to this victory. 

“Coming into the game, I think we all really motivated each other,” said Maize senior Madi Lambert. “After losing a few games, we were not going to let this one get away.” 

Maize is now preparing to play Campus (1-4) at home on Jan. 4. Maize South will play Derby at home on Jan. 7.
