Boys soccer defeated Newton with a final score of 1-0. Sophomore Angel Deleon scored during the first few minutes of the game. 

Deleon admires his team’s work ethic and growth. He is looking forward to the few games left of the season. 

“We all work hard and make sure we do our best,” Deleon said. “[I’m looking forward to] playing the hardest we can and do what we can.”

Senior Mikey Velasquez transferred from Newton and talks about the nerve-racking game. 

“I was a little bit nervous and kind of happy,” Velasquez said. “I haven’t seen them in awhile but i’m not upset, i’m happy that they are thriving without me.”

The boys plan to continue improving their communication skills throughout the rest of the season. 

The eagles will face Hutchinson at home on Tuesday next week.
