Junior Keiryn Swenson makes the all-state volleyball team

Junior Keiryn Swenson was named to the first all-state volleyball team. Swenson is esteemed to be on a team with the best players in the state.

“I feel honored,” Swenson said. “I know a lot of other players are really good.”

To be eligible to be named, coaches had to decide which players were the best.

“They vote on who they think deserves or who should be on the first team all-state,” Swenson said.

Being on the all-state volleyball team requires more than just stats. Leadership is a big  quality that the coaches look for.

“It’s not necessarily just having the skills,” Swenson said. “It’s trying to be a leader on the team.”
