The entire cross country team made a clean sweep at Saturday’s league meet at Lake Afton.

Both the boys and girls varsity teams placed first overall, as well as both JV teams.

Although winning league helps both teams, this does not mean they will go to State. The team has to place in the top three at regionals this Saturday at Junction City in order to qualify for state.

“I am hoping for the next two weeks that the runners give it everything they got. And if they do that and leave everything on the course then it doesn’t matter to me if they are qualifying or not, because if they can’t give any more than they gave then I can be totally happy with it as a coach,” Coach Skeeter Rankins said.
