Maize boys basketball defeated Eisenhower Friday 67-42.

Senior Brandle Easter had 24 of the 67 points scored for the Eagles.

Easter said that every player has to contribute during the game in order to come out with a victory, and the Eagles did just that.

“We can all fill in and do our job, so everybody can play, and everybody can do their part,” Easter said.

The Eagles defense was a big factor in the game and they held Eisenhower well.

“We were just doubling ball screens, rotating well and getting steals,” Easter said.

There are a lot of football players that are playing for the basketball team at Maize. Easter said they have to keep learning and get their mind reset on basketball.

“We still have to get some things in, learn more since we haven’t had many practices,” he said. “We have a lot of new guys coming up so we have to go over a lot of things and relearn the offense and defense.”

The Eagles are hoping for another victory at home on Tuesday against Salina.
