Boys basketball wins against Hutchinson high school

Maize boys basketball played against Hutchinson at Hutchinson High School Tuesday.

The eagles took the win with a score of 60-45.

The boys tip-off went to Maize. At the end of the first quarter Maize took a tight lead, with a score of 11-10.

During the second quarter, Caleb Grill with a 3 point shot, brought the lead to 16-10.

 By halftime, Grill was good for 3 three point shots, bringing the score 26-17.

During third quarter, Brandle Studevan, brought the teams score to 31-21.

Grill hit his fourth 3 point shot for the night, bringing the score to 39-25. Grill scored 17 points for the game.

Logan Schultz then made  his first 3 point shot of the night, making the score 42-27.

“We played really good, it was probably one of our best defensive games, and we need effort like that from everybody in every game,” said junior Caleb Grill.

“It was a good atmosphere, our team brought a lot to the table, and everyone on the bench brought a lot to the atmosphere,” junior Brandle Studevan said.

The next game will be at home on Friday against Salina Central.
