Maize volleyball competed at Sub-State and advanced to the Sub-State finals. The Eagles fell to Andover in the finals, finishing their season.
“Even though none of us wanted to end the season the way we did, I would not change anything,” senior Ashlyn Lakin said.
In their first match against Emporia, the Eagles took victory 25-19.
Against Andover in the first set of the finals, Maize defeated Andover 25-20.
In the second set, the Eagles lost 25-13. Maize fell in the third set.
“I am really going to miss moments spent with the team,” senior Autumn Hanna said. “I am proud when I see my teammates getting better and just seeing them happy and excited when we scored.”
