The girls cross country team took second at Regionals, qualifying them to compete at State. Sophomore Anna Reimer finished sixth as well.

The boys team took fourth, and senior Nate Jones took second overall.

The meet was held on Saturday at Lake Afton.

Last season, the team did not qualify for State for the first time in several seasons. Senior Carson Pierce said that the team is motivated and hungry for the meet and is looking for redemption from last season.

“It is such a good feeling knowing that everything you have worked for all summer and all season has paid off,” Pierce said. “We all had tears of joy knowing that we will get to State.”

The girls team will compete at State on Saturday in Lawrence at the Rim Rock course.
