Maize volleyball wins matches

Tuesday was senior night for the volleyball team. Maize will travel to Valley Center Saturday to compete in Sub-State.

Volleyball defeated Hays and and Salina Central in both of their matches Tuesday.

In their first match against Hays, Maize won their first set 25-17, and took victory in the second set 25-19 for the win.

Against Salina Central, the Eagles won their first set 25-16, and were victorious in their second set 25-14.

“Our communication improved throughout the night,” senior Julianna Ledbetter said. “We really executed the new tempo of play that we’ve been working on at practice.”

Tuesday was senior night for Maize. The senior volleyball players are Ashlyn Lakin, Julianna Ledbetter, Kaitlyn Blume, Maddie Baumer, Autumn Hana and Lexi Montana.

The volleyball team will compete again Saturday in Sub-State at Valley Center.

“We are preparing ourselves to be ready for anything because it is not going to be any easy path winning Sub-State,” Ledbetter said.
