Maize tennis finishes season at State

The Maize tennis team competed at State at the Maize South tennis courts this weekend.
Juniors Lillie Williams, Lindsay Adams, and Alaina Cunningham, and seniors Madison Arnold and Ana Vo competed in the tournament.
In doubles, Arnold/Vo and Cunningham/Adams both won their first round.
Doubles team Arnold/Vo finished 12th and Adams/Cunningham finished 9th. In singles, Williams placed 8th.
“From this season I learned that hard work pays off,” Cunningham said.
Adams and Cunningham went 31-12 this season. The duo believes this is a big improvement from previous seasons.
“Everyone [on the team] is very positive,” Cunningham said. “We have all formed pretty close relationships.”
This concluded the 2017 season for Maize girls tennis.
