The football team fell to Derby on Friday 60-28.

Maize was trailing behind with a score of 21-0 at the end of the first quarter.

An interception by Koy Willms scored the second touchdown in the second quarter, and left the score at 41-15 at the half.

“We couldn’t get our run game going which is a huge part of our offensive scheme,” junior Jacob Quiggle said. “Without that, we just shot ourselves in the foot.”

The Eagles will have a chance at redemption next Friday at their home game against Salina South.
