Olympic boxer Nico Hernandez made an appearance at Friday’s football game to sign autographs and take pictures.

Hernandez boxed in the 2016 Olympics, that took place in Rio. He won the bronze medal in the 52kg (114-pound) weight class.

“The experience was a whole other level …,” Hernandez said, “I’ve never been on that level before … It was a great experience on top of the podium. It was a proud moment for me.”

Once being an ambitious high school athlete himself, Hernandez can relate to teens who have big dreams in life.

“If you have a goal, set your goal. Put your mind to everything you do to reach that goal,” Hernandez said, “You can do it as long as you put your mind to a ten and accomplish your goals.”
