Softball sweeps Campus

April 18, 2016

The softball team had no problem knocking out Campus 16-5 in game one and 17-2 in game two of a doubleheader match-up on Friday.

Sophomore Lauryn Ogden secured the victory in game one, and sophomore Savannah Hughes hit a home run for Maize.

Maize’s aggressive hitting allowed them to gain an early lead, and Campus struggled to keep pace.

Game two was ended early due to run rule. Sophomore Madison Arnold picked up the win, and Hughes smacked two more home runs. Junior Maura Glatczak got in on the action with a home run of her own as well.

Maize controlled game two from the plate and the mound.

The Eagles will attempt to build off this sweep when the travel to Hutchinson for a doubleheader on Tuesday at 4 p.m.
