The Eagles ended their football season Friday night with a loss against Maize South.

The game started off slow with neither team scoring in the first quarter. However, shortly after second quarter started, junior wide receiver Tyson Love made the first and only touchdown for Maize, giving them a 7-0 lead.

With 3:38 left on the clock, the Mavericks scored and sent them into halftime 7-6.

In the second half, the Eagles couldn’t keep up with the Mavericks. Maize South scored touchdown after touchdown, eventually bringing the score to a final 35-7.

“I feel like the game went pretty good,” Love said. “We battled, but things just didn’t go our way the second half.”
