Science class linked up with NASA to tour space center last Thursday.

Science teacher Amy Hammett’s third block class connected with NASA via webcam to take a virtual field trip at the Kennedy Space Center last Thursday.

The students got to virtually tour the Orion Mission and the Crew Exploration Vehicle [CEV] Thursday. During the virtual field trip, students were able to ask questions.

Hammett applied for the opportunity to video chat NASA. Maize was one of three schools picked to participate in this virtual field trip.

“I’m involved in the Kansas NSF EPSCoR [National Science Foundation] [Experimental Program To Stimulate Competitive Research] and I received an email inviting me to apply for the field trip,” Hammett said.
